How high is the basic income actually?

How much basic income do you currently receive and how is this amount composed?

Since January 1, 2024, single people receiving basic income get 563 euros monthly. This amount remains unchanged in 2025 as the so-called protection rule applies and prevents a reduction.

Basic income is calculated individually and depends on life situation. For couples, the standard rate is 506 euros per partner, for youth aged 14 to 17 it’s 471 euros, and for children aged 0 to 5 it’s 357 euros monthly.

In 2025, basic income remains at the previous year’s level. This corresponds to a zero round as inflation has fallen and calculations don’t justify an increase.

The amount of basic income is adjusted annually and is based on the development of living costs. In 2025, the standard rate for single people remains at 563 euros as the legally established updating provides no increase.
