What financial support does the employment office provide during retraining, and how high is it?
During funded retraining, you usually receive unemployment benefit I or unemployment benefit II - depending on what claims you previously acquired. The amount is based on previous income and personal life situation.
Those who get retraining approved by the employment office can receive financial support - often in the form of ALG I (about 60% of last net salary, or 67% with children). Additionally, travel costs, teaching materials, or childcare can be covered.
Financial support during retraining varies. If you’re entitled to unemployment benefits, this is usually continued for the entire duration of retraining. In some cases, there’s also educational money or transitional money.
The amount of money depends on whether you’re registered as unemployed and whether you worked before. In many cases, you get ALG I, supplemented by additional support benefits - for example for travel, accommodation, or childcare.
